Our Inspiration:
Karmveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagadale was a sage, saint and a saviour of the people of the lower strata of the society, and founder of Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Barshi Dist.Solapur . Dr. Mamasaheb enlivened, enkindled and inspired rural population of Maharashtra in general and of Solapur and Osmanabad Districts in particular. He received inspiration and serious thought from the able minds of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Maharshi V.R. Shinde, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil and others. Karmaveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagadale was born on 4th February 1903 at Bhikar Sarola (Dist.Osmanabad). He had completed his education up-to Matriculation and had aspirations for higher education, but due to lack of financial and educational facilities he could not complete university education. The unaccomplished dream of higher education, led him to start educational institution which is known as "Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Barshi". For his humanitarian outlook and outstanding work, Marathwada University, Aurangabad and Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri awarded him D.Lit. and D.Sc. respectively. Karmaveer Mamasaheb realised the urgent need of Medical Services for people from poor classes. The main aim was to provide utmost care and high-quality medical services at reasonable rates to the needy and the poor people. In 1975 on February 4th, Karmveer Mamasaheb started "Arogya Mandir" Hospital with 10 beds and small surgical unit. Because of his total dedication, devotion and determination, this hospital developed very fast and the different wings started adding their medical contribution with high standard medical services to the poor. The Management has recently started the Trauma centre with all the latest facilities, this has added another feather in the crown. He passed away on 30th May 1981 leaving behind us the legacy of social work. He is now our inspiration and spark plug to fulfil his thoughts and ambitions.
